Terms of use
Last updated 21 October 2026. This is a plain-English draft and should be reviewed before launch.
The short version
Leasly is a free tool to help people moving in together stay organised. Use it fairly, keep your login safe, and remember it's a record-keeping tool, not legal or financial advice.
Your account
- You need to be 18 or older to create an account.
- Keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- Only invite people you actually live with or are moving with.
What Leasly is, and isn't
- Checklists, condition reports, shared costs and shared items in Leasly are personal records made by you and your housemates. They aren't legal documents, and they don't replace your lease, the official condition report from your agent, or advice from your state's tenancy authority.
- Values and splits Leasly works out (like what a shared TV is worth now) are estimates to help you agree. You can always agree on something different.
- Leasly never moves money. Any payment between housemates happens outside Leasly.
- Any businesses we show you, like removalists, are independent. Showing them isn't an endorsement.
Fair use
Don't use Leasly to harass anyone, upload anything illegal, or try to break or overload the service. We may suspend accounts that do.
The service
We work hard to keep Leasly running and your data safe, but it's provided as is, and we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Keep your own copies of anything important, such as your condition report PDF. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Australian Consumer Law.
Changes
We may update these terms. If the changes are significant, we'll tell you by email or in the app.
